Average White Van conversion

Hi all! Let's see if anyone actually reads these posts...

Here's a recent photo of my NV200 conversion. Details of what I've done:

Base vehicle: 2015 Nissan NV200 SV small van. Engine 2.0 L with CVT transmission. Includes navigation system, Satellite radio and rear camera.

Pop Top: Electric pop top with wireless remote from Colorado Campervan. Includes dimmable LED ceiling lighting and multiple USB & utility outlets. Winter canvas package with additional insulation and three-layer windows.

Electrical: Renogy 100 Amp-Hour AGM deep-cycle battery. CTEK D250S dual-input charge controller. Nasa BM-1 Battery Monitor display. Alternator charging thru isolation relay. Giaride 100 W solar panel roof mounted.

Outside kitchen: Custom swing-away hitch with 48" Northern Tool drop-front truck utility box.

Awning: Carefree of Colorado "Freedom" 2.5 meter manual awning with LED lighting.

Bed / Storage: Custom slide-out dual cushion bed that converts to couch. Under bed storage for clothing drawers, Luggable Loo, bedding and lawn chairs.

And now the picture, taken at the NHRA Nationals in Brainerd MN a week ago:

Your van looks like a well-sorted piece of kit - well done!

Looks nice....did Colorado Camper do the conversion or was it something you managed?

Thanks, Dan

It's a pivoting arm, kind of like the one shown in this video:

I had mine made by a local welding shop. First I made a cardboard mock-up with all dimensions noted and they made it up in a week. The chuck box kitchen is a 48" truck box made from aluminum treadplate, with a drop front. I did add an adjustable leg on the outside end of the box because the weight made it sag. When the awning is extended the kitchen box is mostly under it so it has shade and is protected from rain.

When driving the box sits centered behind the rear doors. It doesn't block the tail lights, license plate or rear camera.

Here are some photos of the inside - day mode, night mode, and cargo mode. The entire bed unit unbolts and can be removed in less than a minute.

Colorado Campervan installed the pop top, I have done all the rest. The pop top is electrically operated (small winch motors and worm gear actuators). It even has a remote control!

Looks like a great conversion! How high is it with the top installed? I'm hoping to find a way to sneak a camper conversion into my garage--only about 6' 8" clearance with the door all the way up...
