First thing I did was ditch the stock wheels in favor of some Toyo Eclipse 205/55/16 on American Racing 16x7 rims. Didnt want to spend alot on rims as its a work truck so I went with something nicer but not bling bling. They mounted up a 17'" version with lower sidewall tires and it looked great but load capacity was less and I worried ride would be to stiff. The 16" Toyo combo is perfect for me. Speedo/odo is only off 6%. Much improved ride and handling and it corners great now.

Garage
Fitted these the other day, tyres that are on are 205/40 R17 but I'm going to change them to 205/55 R17 instead.

That is exactly what I want to do with my van! The wheels and tires improve looks and safety through way better traction than the stock golf cart wheels and crap tires.
I am running into major problems with the local tire stores and now with TireRack. They will not sell me a tire and wheel combination because the tires must be c rated. There are no choices in a larger tire with a C rating. Special order MIGHT be a possibility but then you get to pay through the nose. I am curious how discount tire worked with you knowing about these liability issues. I don't want much, I just want a better looking, safer wheel/tire combo. I do still want my TPMS to work properly. I want my speedo to work properly as well. Really sick of the "we can't sell you tires that are not rated for your vehicle" spiel..

So the tire thing is a repeated problem. If you are not going to haul heavy loads, any tire with the original sizing will do. If you can not get someone to sell and install them, then buy the ones you want from one place and find someone else to install them. Worse comes to worse, take the tires off and take them to someone to mount and balance them but never even tell them what vehicle it is going onto.
