Winter tire options

Load index 94 winter tires in 185/60R15 are hard to find: The Nexen Euro-Win LTR 185/60R15C is the only one I found.

(spec sheet here)

Some alternatives:

Go for a lower load index tire such as 185/60R15 88 T XL (see this owner's manual supplement from Nissan). With these, payload goes down to 1200lbs.

Get a slightly bigger tire. A 195/60R15 92T XL is only 2% bigger (diameter) and is closer to the OEM load index.

Don't know about availability in Canada, but:
Continental vanco winter
Maxxis MA-W2

Not a lot of choice in that size, is there (I'm lucky that the UK spec nv is fitted with a slightly more common size van tyre)

Aren't there Load "E" Tires available in the US for the NV?
Perhaps changing to a 16" wheel/tire combo?

Yesterday I was at a Nissan dealership in Canada.

The winter tire they recommend are:

NEXEN EURO-WIN-STUDLESS LRC BW

185/60R15

$114.22 installed

Any thoughts?

Yep, my local Nissan dealers sell and recommend those Nexen winter tires here also.
Nexen tires are cheap Chinese crap, research yourself.

They are equally small and undersized as the original tires and the Nissan dealers had them way overpriced. Over $200 Cdn each.

Your quoted price of C$114 installed is too low and shows how cheap those tires are...

Read my thread on the winter tires that I currently have for more info: https://nv200forum.com/6-introduction...0-calgary.html

Time for a new set. Nordman 5, 195/60R15XL. Load index 92. 126$ each.

Should last 2, maybe 3 winters.

You could also pick up a set of rims which gives you a much more options when it comes to tires.

From what I've picked up reading through the threads, the biggest known tire size to work is 215/65/16. 205/55/16 will be a much easier size to find. I planned on going that route but ended up getting 17s.

I ran 215/50/17 for a few minutes today, no rubbing(as far as I know).
